These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PillVault mobile application ("App") provided by PillVault ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using PillVault, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PillVault, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

PillVault is a free medication management application that helps users:

• Organize and track their medications
• Set customizable pill reminders with scheduling options
• Monitor pill inventory and receive low-stock alerts
• Record medication history (taken, snoozed, missed)
• Export medication data for personal use

PillVault is provided as a personal productivity and reminder tool. It is not a medical device and is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

3. Medical Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: PillVault is a reminder and organizational tool only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• Always consult your physician, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare provider with questions about your medications.
• Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information presented in the App.
• PillVault does not verify the accuracy of medications, dosages, or scheduling information you enter — this is your responsibility.
• Do not rely solely on PillVault's reminders for critical or life-sustaining medications. Use multiple reminder methods as backup.
• If you experience a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use PillVault. If you are under the age of 18, you should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

5. User Responsibilities

As a user of PillVault, you are responsible for:

• Ensuring the accuracy of all medication information you enter
• Verifying reminder times and schedules are set correctly
• Maintaining the security of your device
• Backing up your data if needed (using the Export Data feature)
• Using the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

6. Data Ownership & Storage

All data you enter into PillVault is stored locally on your device. You retain full ownership of your data. We do not collect, access, or control your medication data in any way.

• You are responsible for safeguarding your data
• Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all stored data
• We are not responsible for data loss due to device malfunction, theft, or App removal
• We recommend using the Data Export feature regularly to backup important medication information

7. Intellectual Property

PillVault, including its design, interface, code, graphics, icons, and content, is owned by PillVault and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or any part of it
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without written permission
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• PillVault is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
• Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is $0 as PillVault is free).
• We are not liable for any health consequences resulting from missed reminders, incorrect data entry, or reliance on the App.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PillVault, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

10. Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue PillVault (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

11. Third-Party Links & Services

PillVault may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as the Google Play Store). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies.

12. Termination

You may stop using PillVault at any time by uninstalling the App from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the App if you violate these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PillVault operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PillVault regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
